ABT Day Thirteen

Today Amanda had a full day of classes including character! She seemed excited to leave for another day of dancing!
After we walked to ABT together, I continued to Whole Foods to stock up on some needed groceries. A little later in the morning, I took the subway to 5th Avenue to do a little shopping! It was fun investigating a few of the stores, especially Saks, which has 8 floors! Soon, I had made my way back to Rockefeller Center and I visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art store there!

When I met Amanda after classes, she told me she had a very good day and enjoyed her teachers! We then thought about where we might go for dinner and we were happy that it wasn't raining!

We decided to try the Shake Shack in Madison Square Park. We were told that they served
some of the best hamburgers in New York, so we thought we would give them a try! It an open air hamburger/hot dog/shake/frozen custard outdoor stand. The lines are typically very long and waiting for an hour in line is not unusual. The website for Shake Shack even has a "Shake Shack Cam" with a live video feed so you can see how long the line is before you leave!

Amanda came back to the apartment and quickly changed after her classes--all the while I was monitoring the line at Shake Shack via the video feed on my computer! Madison Square Park is only a couple of blocks from our apartment, so it didn't take us long to get there. We stood in line for no more than twenty minutes before we got our food and decided to take it back to the apartment! It was very delicious and Amanda proclaimed it the best hamburger she had ever had! There are so many new and interesting places to investigate here and we were glad that we experienced Shake Shack!

Amanda will have a three day weekend, as ABT doesn't have any classes on Friday because of the July 4th holiday! We are planning on seeing some more of the sites that NYC has to offer and Amanda is also going to spend some time getting together with some of her ABT friends!

A very happy Fourth of July to you all!

Beth and Amanda
