We gathered all of our many belonging and after many trips to the car, we were finally loaded and ready to go and it was about 8:30 am. We were not quite ready to depart yet, however, so we decided to take the car to a parking garage and take one last trip on the subway!
Bruce had not experienced the Staten Island Ferry and the great views it offers of not only Manhattan, but also of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. So, we took the subway to Whitehall Street, where we were able to get on the Staten Island Ferry.
Bruce thoroughly enjoyed being on the boat and seeing the beautiful views of the city and Amanda and I enjoyed the experience for the third time!
After the ferry ride, we decided to go to the South Street Seaport, which we had heard was nice and soon we found ourselves and the Seaport Cafe, which is a nice outdoor restaurant.
We had a very nice lunch and enjoyed the view of the boats and the water. Soon it was time to take the subway back to the car, but we thought we owed it to ourselves to make one last stop at Pinkberry for frozen yogurt.
First we picked up the car from the parking garage. As Amanda and I got into the car and drove off, we noticed how strange it felt to us. After all, we hadn't been in a car for six weeks and had been used to walking everywhere or taking the subway. It felt very unnatural to be riding in a car and seeing all the pedestrians go by.
As Bruce parked in front of Pinkberry, we noticed that there were signs up indicating that the next day the street there would be closed as they would be filming Step Up 3 there on Sunday! We made a mental note that we would have to be sure to see the movie when it is released.

With yogurt in hand, we drove out of the city and headed for home. We were looking forward to coming back home and seeing our family, friends, and of course Muff, but we couldn't help but feel a little sad that our stay in New York City had come to an end.
We certainly enjoyed our trip to the city and I know that Amanda will take away many nice memories of her time at ABT and the chance to perform with her fellow dancers.
Thanks for following us on our trip--
Beth and Amanda
