The Weekend!

We had a very good weekend! Bruce, Melissa, and Muff came up early Saturday morning so they would be here in plenty of time for us to head over to Times Square so we could see Chicago. We visited a huge souvenir shop in Times Square first, and then we decided to go to Cosi for lunch. They have amazing sandwiches and salads--it was a very nice lunch and we enjoyed our time there.

Soon it was time for us to make our way over to the Ambassador Theatre as the line was forming to enter for the show! As we entered the theatre, we immediately noticed how pretty is was inside and also that it was surprisingly small (I guess it seemed especially so after being used to the Metropolitan Opera House). We loved the size, it was a very intimate setting and you really felt close to all the action on stage! Here you can see a picture of the inside of the theatre. Samantha Harris did a marvelous job as Roxie Hart and the rest of the cast was also very talented. There was a band on the stage and the acting, singing, and dancing was very impressive! It was a memorable performance and we were so glad to be able to see Chicago!
After the show was over, we made our way back over towards our apartment and thought about where we might eat dinner. Since Bruce and Melissa hadn't been with us for two weeks, we thought that another trip to Pete's Tavern was in order! As we walked in the door, they didn't seem to surprised to see us, ha! We even had the same waiter we had the night before, who was very nice!
Bruce, Melissa, and Muffin left early Sunday morning to go home. After they left, Amanda and I decided to make our way towards Century 21, a discount department store that many of Amanda's friends had been talking about. It was quite large and had a lot of discount designer items--it is kind of like an upscale TJ Maxx. We looked around for a while and then decided to take the subway back to Union Square so we could do some grocery shopping.

Our plans were to put the groceries away and then head a couple of blocks over to Pinkberry again, but we were just too tired! So a relaxing afternoon of cards and enjoying each other's company is how we spent our time!

We hope that you have been enjoying a fun weekend as well!

Beth and Amanda
